I was recently asked to work on a review with The Wheat Bag Company and I am a huge lover of using natural products to help with pain relief so decided to give their products a go. The Wheat Bag Company sell a large range of wheat bags in different materials including cotton, fleece and faux fur as well as craft kits to create your own. All of their wheat bags are handmade in the UK. They were kind enough to send a Cotton Microwaveable Wheat Bag for me to try out and have also offered one to one of our lucky readers as a giveaway prize.
My absolute favourite film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is Guardians of the Galaxy. The characters, the storyline and the humour are just brilliant and 'The Awesome Mix' is just THE best movie soundtrack. Me and the kids watch the film quite often and have been eagerly awaiting the release of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (Out 28th April in the UK) to see what they get up to next. The Disney Store have released their Guardians of the Galaxy merchandise range, available online and in stores now, and they sent us a couple of items to review. We were sent the Hasbro Starlord Helmet and the Awesome Mix Vol. 2 sound machine.
I have to say I was personally a little disappointed with the sound machine as I had thought it would give me some clues to the new movie soundtrack. They are too good at keeping secrets! Each of the buttons at the top has a different sound effect. Elsie has stolen this from everyone. No one else is getting a look in because she thinks it is amazing. I must say after the 300th consecutive button press of the same sound effect, it gets annoying. Maybe do not give to a two year old. It is a pretty cool toy though and lots of fun. It would also look great used as a key ring as it has the clip attached. Gracie and Zach have enjoyed playing with it when they can get a look in!
Starlord has got to be the coolest character in Guardians of the Galaxy. He bought the team together and saved the whole galaxy so who wouldn't want to own a replica mask to look like the legendary outlaw himself? We have had lots of fun with this and yes it fits an adult head too, I tried it. It is so well made and pretty sturdy, the elastic fastening is adjustable so you can get a comfortable fit. It is so much better than the one we already had (pictured below).

The Guardian's of the Galaxy merchandise is available to buy now online and in stores. If you haven't seen the first movie, you need to watch it and the sequel is out in cinemas across the UK on the 28th April.
Now that Spring is here we can all enjoy actually spending time outdoors without risk of frostbite. We are fortunate to live close by to a small wood and the kids love walking through the woods on a nice day exploring. They love searching for the Gruffalo through the deep dark wood, but our favourite game is a little one we came up with one day to avoid the big pile of sticks we were accumulating in the house.
Gracie really enjoys making different creations with Aquabeads. We have previously reviewed the Aquabeads Rainbow Pen Station and they recently sent Gracie a Sylvanian Families set to see what she thought. The set contains over 600 beads, 4 template sheets and a set of instructions showing you how to make each creation (photograph below shows contents).
I remember once reading 'It takes a village to raise a child' and at the time I thought it was silly. The first few years of my parenting life were tough. The friends who were so excited at my pending arrival and couldn't wait to meet her, they never showed up. I had been expecting to have a baby, have all my friends cooing over them and that I would always have people around and most of all that I would be happy.
So many people seemed to like my last post so thought I would start giving regular updates on some of the hilarious online dating encounters I have had. Despite me swearing off Plenty Of Fish before, I thought I would give it another chance after introducing a friend to the site to join me in the shark pool. I decided even the bad experiences are something to laugh about.
It is now March and we are all eagerly awaiting the release of the brand new live action Beauty & The Beast movie. Will it live up to expectations when the original is such a well-loved classic? Me and Gracie are really excited to go and watch the film with some of her friends and while we have been waiting we were sent some official merchandise from The Disney Store to review. We were sent this Film Collection Belle Doll and this Belle Mug.
Gracie absolutely loves the Belle doll. The likeliness to Emma Watson is incredible! It is so detailed, right down to her freckles. The hair is beautifully styled and her classic yellow dress is gorgeous. It was quite funny at first as we are big Harry Potter fans and so it was so strange seeing Hermione's face wearing a princess dress. It took a good few days for me and Gracie to get over that! The doll is actually so lovely that we are keeping it in the box to display. I am putting some new shelves up in the girls' room and it will be displayed there. Beauty & The Beast is actually Elsie's favourite film even though she is only 2 so they will both be pleased to have such a beautiful collectible on the shelf.
The Belle mug is definitely my new favourite mug. It features two different images of Belle, one on each side. In one she is carrying the enchanted mirror and in the other she is carrying a red rose. The shape is lovely and I love the gold detail. Definitely a must-have for any Beauty & The Beast fan.
There are so many more amazing Beauty & The Beast products available at The Disney Store both online and in-store. The film is being released in cinemas on March 17th.
Zach is a huge fan of the Imaginext DC Super Friends range and has a load of the playsets set up under his bed which he has played with daily for over two years. He has always been a fan of superheroes especially the DC heroes and villains and the Imaginext DC sets give him a range of settings for his imaginative play. Zach was sent the new Imaginext Arkham Asylum to review and we also have one to giveaway to one lucky reader below.
This year is the first year our school is participating in World Book Day since Gracie started. So every year I have seen other people's children dress up in awesome costumes inspired by their favourite characters from a range of different books. I have always loved to read and am so pleased that my children seem to share that love for books. Gracie has already decided she is going into school on World Book Day as Hermione Granger as she has started to read Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and well she is pretty awesome. A simple Harry Potter costume minus the glasses will do her and I may crimp her hair for added effect. I have no idea what Zach wants to be yet but I dread to think what he will ask for! Here I have some great costume ideas for little ones which was created by a pre-school in Southgate

L.O.L Surprise! has been a big hit over in the US and has launched in the UK today. It is a collectable surprise unboxing toy, which we all know kids love these days. The idea is, it has 7 layers to unwrap, each with a hidden surprise including emoji sticker, accessory, outfit, shoes and finally reveals a 3 inch doll in the centre.
Gracie was sent a L.O.L Surprise ahead of release to see what she thought.
Gracie had so much fun building her last Lego DC Superhero Girls project, Wonder Woman's Dorm was awesome and so much fun to create and play with. Her next project was Lego DC Superhero Girls Batgirl Batjet Chase and she couldn't wait to get stuck in.
I was 17 the last time I was 'dating'. Fast forward to now, I am nearly 26, have three children and the world of dating is totally different. Not that I would actually know about the literal dating side of things. I have recently joined a couple of dating sites and I don't know whether it is hilarious or tragic.
My kids have recently found a huge love for Lego and I am so happy they are now at an age where they can use Lego to build and enjoy. Me and my brother used to play Lego for hours at a time, using our imagination to build all sorts of things. Lego is even cooler today and they have playsets for so many different franchises including all the things my kids love, DC Superheroes, Marvel and Star Wars.
Gracie loves DC Superhero Girls. She has all of the action figures and the series incorporates all of her favourite female DC Characters. She was so excited when she spotted a picture of the DC Superhero Girls Lego before the release and we had been waiting eagerly for it's release. The range consists of Superhero High School (41232), Wonder Woman Dorm (41235), BumbleBee Helicopter (41234), Lashina Tank (41233), Harley Quinn To The Rescue (41231) and Batgirl Batjet Chase (41230).
I have so many snowy childhood memories and find it crazy that despite having three children of my own, only one has actually experienced snow. Even then she doesn't remember it. These photos were taken in January 2013. Gracie had just turned 2 years old! Zach was a teeny baby tucked up indoors in the warm and this was the last time we had 'proper' snow.
I am not one for the whole 'New Year, New Me' stuff but this year is a fresh start for many reasons. It is my first year as a single parent and with that comes so many responsibilities and decisions that will affect my family. Although I didn't celebrate the New Year, I was asleep way before midnight, I have found myself making changes to my lifestyle already without really thinking about it.
