Review: Interplay Glitter Tattoos

Saturday, 24 October 2015

Gracie loves temporary tattoos. We quite regularly buy her favourite character tattoos but she doesn't get to use them as often as she would like as they can be difficult to remove and they are not allowed in school. Gracie was sent an Interplay Glitter Tattoo set to review.

Part of the Fab Lab collection, Glitter Tattoo kit has 25 unique designs and a total of 54 stencils to create your own glitter tattoos. They can last up to 7 days but can easily be washed off before that if needed. The kit comes with 6 pots of different coloured glitter for you to create your tattoos.

The kit also comes with a detailed instruction manual, telling you step by step what to do. We followed the instructions and within minutes both Gracie and Zach had their own cool glitter tattoos. You simply choose your stencil, remove the sticker backing and gently stick it wherever you want your tattoo. You then cover the area with cosmetic glue (which is also included), leave to dry for a minute or two before using one of the brushes to put on your chosen colour glitter. Once you have covered the area with glitter, you immediately peel off the stencil and hey presto! You have your sparkly tattoo. The process was a little messy but easily cleaned up afterwards, there is no such thing as non messy glitter!

The stencils are only suitable for one use but you get two of each design. As the kit isn't expensive itself, I would say the fact the stencils are disposable is definitely not a problem. Gracie and Zach's tattoos did start to come off the following day and so we used some children's bath gel and a soft sponge to gently scrub them off. Unlike your ordinary temporary tattoos there wasn't a sign of redness after removal, even on their overly sensitive skin.

The Interplay Glitter Tattoo set costs £9.99. It is available at www.interplayuk.com
