With less than a week to go until Halloween, it is the perfect time to plan some Halloween night entertainment. Here I have a few family friendly suggestions to suit young children.
'Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere' Smriti Prasadam-Halls, Lorena Alvarez
Our latest Parragon book we received was a great Halloween themed book. In all honesty, it is one of the best books Gracie has received in a long time. She is now learning to read in school and at home and when I saw that inside the book contained lots of small words and lots of repeated words. Gracie now knows how to spell or read pumpkin which is a huge word for her. She is also finding lots of small words that are easy to sound out following the word pumpkin, such as 'pumpkin sad, pumpkin mad'. The illustrations are brilliant and really enticing, Gracie loves to describe what she is seeing. It is a fun book and great for reading beginners. Gracie has even asked to take her book into school for show and tell to show them how well she is learning.
My Little Pony 'Spooktacular Pony Tales'
Join your favourite residents of Ponyville (Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie and, of course Spike) as they take on some of the spookiest adventures Equestria's ever seen!We love the My Little Pony Friendship is Magic television series and Gracie will watch the episodes over and over again. The 'Spooktacular Pony Tales' DVD contains six hand picked chillingly good episodes that are perfect for the Halloween theme. The DVD would be perfect for a kids Halloween party to watch in between party games. Gracie and Zach loved the DVD and remembered a few of the episodes from watching them on Tiny Pop. Their favourite episode on the DVD is Luna Eclipsed. Princess Luna is one of Gracie's favourite characters and she loves her alter ego Nightmare Moon so she really enjoyed the episode that centred around her.
Ghost Hunt Evolution Megableu
As Billy Bones turns his head in all directions, ghosts and bats are projected from his eyes on the wall and ceiling. Blast all the ghosts and bats that appear all around. 1 ghost = 1 point, 1 bat = 3 points. The gun will count the number of ghosts and bats shot.
This game is fun for all of the family. Me and Andy are like a pair of kids when it comes to playing games and the kids love all the rivalry! This game has been no exception, we try so hard to win although Andy is a tiny bit better than me! Zach does not understand the concept of the game at all (He has only just turned 3) and so just shoots us and laughs oblivious to the fact he is losing. Gracie tries so hard and does manage to get a few ghosts and bats between giggling fits. This would be THE perfect game for a Halloween party and is guaranteed to get all the guests laughing and joining in! The game is at it's best when played in darkness
