Review: Fisher Price Smart Stages Purse08:00:00
Fisher Price have a brilliant new range of Smart Stages toys for babies and have asked us to test out Sis' Smart Stages Purse.
''Every baby develops at their own pace, and Smart Stages technology lets you select the stage that's best for your child. Choose from developmentally appropriate songs, phrases and sounds within three levels of play- just slide the switch''Sis' Smart Stages Purse is a cute little handbag containing a few of the daily essentials; keys, phone, credit card, mirror and bracelet. The bag/purse opens up to store all of these essentials and easily empty them all over again. We all know babies love to fill up and empty our bags at any given opportunity! The bag also has the Smart Stages panel on the front where you can choose the most appropriate stage for your baby.
Level 2 (12 months+) actually introduces French words into the equation. Now Elsie is almost one and had no grasp of the English language but we all know that children are sponges and adding another language at such a young age is actually very helpful and will make things less confusing for them as they grow up and start to learn more. This level also prompts your baby to identify shapes and colours and makes it an easy and fun way for you to teach your child through play.
Level 3 (18 months+) is all about the role play. Imagination hits and your child will love the fun songs and phrases encouraging them to pretend along with Sis and wear their handbag/purse proudly on their shoulders.
As you can see from the photo's Elsie gives the Smart Stages purse her seal of approval. She is very almost 12 months and teething pretty badly so is loving chomping on the keys and credit card. She loves the rattling of the little phone and we are trying to teach her to pretend to phone Daddy at work which she thinks is really funny. She really enjoys pressing the different buttons on the bag itself and dances away to the sounds. She uses a mix of the levels mainly thanks to her big brother who loves to play with her and switches between them all. She hasn't started speaking French or walking off with her bag over her shoulder yet (or walking at all in general) but there is plenty of time for that.
Elsie loves the Smart Stages purse and I think it is a brilliant baby toy. I love the added essentials and that the toy will grow with her for a good few years. With a RRP of £19.99 it isn't the cheapest toy but it is great quality and built to last, so in my opinion it is worth splashing out on. It would be the perfect gift for a first Christmas or Birthday.
